Healthy Eating
Healthy Peninsula’s Healthy Eating Initiative works to share nourishing food, educational opportunities, and support connectivity to food security resources. Our strategies include The Magic Food Bus, a volunteer powered mobile farmstand that shares free fresh produce, books, and resources across our nine-town region as well as partnership to run a free community meal delivery service in collaboration with The Simmering Pot. We offer learning opportunities to
support well-being and develop skills through Garden Camp, Lunch and Learns, Snack & Story Times, and other collaborative community programming.
All of our programs are low barrier and grounded in an effort to make good food and the skills to prepare it more accessible to all. We know that nourishment is foundational to supporting individual and community well-being. We believe in empowering people to lead healthier lifestyles by directly offering free nutritious food choices, food education, and participating in collaborations that improve access to quality nourishment for all.
